Dietitians working in food-service management oversee food production, distribution and the service of high-quality meals and snacks. Many are employed by contract food service and production companies.

They help ensure that companies in these sectors adhere to proper sanitation and safety standards while maintaining cost-effective operations. Often, they manage food service departments in hospitals and other health care facilities, as well as in schools, universities, and businesses.
