DC is the Most Credible and Reliable Source for Nutrition Information for Canadians
Measures:
  • High member satisfaction with the role DC plays in promoting the visibility and public credibility of our profession
  • Our various publics e.g. media, government, NGOs and the general public believe the profession is credible and reliable
  • Dietitians are recognized as health professional partners for Canadians
  • There will be easy access to timely information, viewpoints, and guidance from Dietitians of Canada and its members on current food and nutrition issues
  • Strong relationships with members, the media, government, community health and other important stakeholders

DC Standards and Tools Sustain the Dietetic Profession
Measures:
  • Students and members believe they have the necessary skills and resources to pursue rewarding careers
  • High member satisfaction with the role DC plays in its commitment to enhancing the skill and knowledge of the profession
  • Communities of members that promote and support continuous learning and evidence-based practice innovation
  • National education standards
  • Diverse pathways for achieving entry-level competency and re-entry to practice
  • Variety of accessible professional development opportunities
  • Support for the Canadian Foundation for Dietetic Research (CFDR)
  • Ongoing supply of qualified candidates for the profession
  • Members prepared for emerging practice areas, senior roles and diverse careers

DC is the voice of Dietitians on designing health systems for Canadians
Measures:
  • Members are aware of DC's position on all aspects of health system legislation - e.g., third party coverage of RD services, primary health care reform
  • Members are satisfied with the opportunity they have to participate in the dialogue on key issues
  • A voice for Dietitians on health systems reform issues
  • Government, other health professionals, and Canadians recognize roles for Dietitians across the continuum of Canada's health systems
  • Decision-makers and policy planners recognize standards and best practices in food and nutrition services
  • Canadians can access Dietitians' services across a continuum of health systems
