  • How do I apply for the parental leave rate reduction?

    You are eligible for a parental leave membership rate reduction if you were previously a member of DC and you are not currently eligible for Student Status AND

    • due to full time maternity/parental leave you are currently not working OR
    • due to full time maternity/parental leave you will not be working for the majority of the upcoming membership period.

    When you go through your membership renewal transaction, you must upload a proof of parental leave which may include a note from your doctor, employer, clinic, or employment insurance office, stating when you are due to go on parental leave for a specified period.

    Members on Parental Leave are also eligible to have their liability insurance fee waived. 

  • I am retiring. What now?

    You may qualify for the Retired membership fee reduction if:  

    1. You were formerly registered with a provincial dietetic regulatory body or member of DC, and you are either permanently retired from work and aged 55 years or over; or
    2. you are permanently retired from work and no longer able to work due to a medical condition.  
  • Where do I find my membership and liability insurance receipts?

    You can access your official documents online by completing the following steps:

    1. Access your profile. (login required)
    2. At the top of your profile page, locate the quick link named "Receipts", and click on it.
    3. Your official membership receipts are displayed at the top of the page. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to view your insurance certificates.
  • Do I qualify for a membership fee reduction?

    You may qualify for a membership fee reduction:

    1. If you are joining us for the first year or second year as a non-student,
    2. If you are a Registered Dietitian or registration ready, and you are a grad student,
    3. If you are going on parental leave,
    4. If you are retiring, or
    5. if you are an undergraduate student, an intern, or a Masters practicum student..
