All dietetic interns should consider our liability insurance program designed to provide you with important protection from lawsuits in which you may be named for Malpractice, Bodily Injury, Property Damage and Personal Injury. Practicum students may be eligible to have their liability insurance premium waived. Click here for policy details.

Accident Insurance for Dietetic Interns and Practicum Placement Students
 

Dietitians of Canada now offers a new and enhanced Accident Insurance product for students during their studies and practicum placements.

This policy provides coverage in the event of an accident, regardless of when or where it takes place. Members are protected 24/7 and coverage is not restricted to specific operations, such as professional placement activities.

Insurance details

The coverage is being provided by BMS Canada. Plans include the following: 

  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)– limits from $25,000 to $100,000
  • Permanent Total Disability – to AD&D policy limit
  • Repatriation - $5,000
  • Rehabilitation - $5,000
  • Fracture Benefit - $2,000
  • Dental Injury - $500
  • Accidental Medical - $5,000
