For the 2016 Saskatchewan Provincial Election, Dietitians of Canada calls on political parties to commit to increasing access to dietitian services. The two election priorities are:
Fund a dietitian contact centre to provide all Saskatchewan residents with free access to credible, evidence-based food and nutrition information
Increase access to dietitian services in long term care (LTC) to optimize residents’ health and well-being, and protect their safety and quality of life
Dietitians of Canada wrote to the leaders of the political parties outlining our election priorities and asking them for a written response to two questions noted in the letter. We included a copy of the ‘Ask Your Candidate’ resource, and a letter of support from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition for a dietitian contact centre.
