Gerontology Network Book Club [Gerontology Members Only]

Please join the Gerontology Network for it's upcoming Book Club to discuss "No Love Like It: Feeding Someone Who is Sick."  This will be the first book club with the author attending and guiding us through our discussion, Dr Catherine Morley, PhD RD FDC.

While all Gerontology Network Members are welcome, participants should do their best to attend having already read the book to make the most out of this interactive and reflective session.

About the Speaker: Dr. Catherine Morley, PhD, RD, FDC (they/them)

Author, Dr. Catherine Morley, PhD, RD, FDC (they/them) will join us for the September 2025 DC Gerontology Nutrition Book Club discussion of “No Love Like It: Feeding Someone Who is Sick” (FriesenPress, 2025).

For details about the book, its purpose, and the author, please refer to:

Cath had two audiences in mind when writing the book - caregivers and those in circles of care; and health professionals including dietitians, dietetic educators, and students.

The DC GN book club gathering is an opportunity to share insights about how the book (a hybrid of research findings, memoir about work as a dietitian and as a family member of people experiencing life-altering illnesses, and creative writing pieces) relates to book club participants’ clinical and personal experiences. Cath is interested in hearing your thoughts about how, if at all, the book might be integrated into dietetics education.

Catherine holds a PhD in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies (U Calgary), an MA in Adult Education (UBC), a BASc in Applied Human Nutrition (U Guelph), diplomas in Textile Arts and Documentary Film (Capilano U), and completed a Dietetic Internship at Vancouver General Hospital. Cath is a Death Doula Candidate through the Home Hospice Association, and President of the West Hants Hospice Society. No Love Like It: Feeding Someone Who is Sick is their first solo book.
