Jan Ditchfield is an award-winning social entrepreneur and business educator. With over 20 years of experience in business development, marketing and operations, Jan built her career helping businesses to thrive. She has successfully founded two non-profit organizations, three for profits and has been responsible for over $20 million dollars of revenue in her career.

Jennifer Neale 
is a Registered Dietitian in Ottawa, Ontario. She has a Masters Degree from McGill University and is a member of both the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada. Jennifer became a Dietitian in 2012 and has been working in various sectors within the world of dietetics ever since. This has included working in community health and diabetes education, private practice, insurance, workplace wellness, and software development.

Jennifer opened her own private practice, Nutrition IQ, in 2013 as a side-hustle and moved it to a full-time gig in 2017 after her daughter was born. Now as a mom of two, she loves finding new ways to improve productivity so she has more time to see clients and spend time with her kids.

Doug Cook is a dedicated management professional specializing in not-for-profit (NFP) organizational management with 20 years of experience of in all aspects of NFP senior leadership management including professional associations on both a provincial and national level and a provincial health regulatory college. Skilled in board governance, program development, advocacy, regulatory affairs and government relations along with marketing and communications. Doug Cook was appointed Executive Director & Registrar of the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA) in April of 2008.  With an education in Business Administration Doug began focusing on healthcare administration with professional organizations after previously working in the area of municipal and economic development. His 15 plus years of healthcare administration experience include his position with CDA and previously with the Alberta Association of Optometrists and on a national level with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. Doug held the position of Co-Chair for the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice for 5 years beginning with its inception in 2009 and recently completed a term as Chair of the Alberta Federation of Regulated Health Professions.


Doug Cook is the Executive Director and Registrar for the College of Dietitians of Alberta. Appointed in 2008, Doug has led the College through a number of changes during his tenure. With an education in Business Administration, Doug has over 20 years of experience with health care organizations, previously working with optometrists and massage therapists on a national level. Doug was a member of the original PDEP Steering Committee and served as Co-chair for five years. Doug is currently the Chair of the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee for the Alberta Federation of Regulated Health Professions.

Heather Boyd
 is a registered trademark agent and has over 20 years of experience working in the intellectual property law field and has been working in the legal field for over 30 years (10+ years a senior litigation paralegal). Heather is an active volunteer and IP advisor in many community charities and not-for-profit organizations. As a nature lover, she is passionate about the effects of climate change.  Soon to be living in a rammed earth home built almost entirely by women-owned businesses, she champions a small carbon footprint and the support local mantra. Heather has always been a bit of a health nut. An avid hiker, cyclist and gardener, she can usually be found on the weekends creating delicious meals from scratch for her family and out on the trails with her dog.  She is also part of the highland dancing community in Ottawa; as a dancer, a sponsor and a volunteer. As a certified sommelier, Heather created a vlog, IP Somm™, under the Pillar IP YouTube Channel as an awareness campaign – pairing information about IP with great conversation and tasty beverages in an attempt to make IP more palatable.

 is a registered dietitian, certified intuitive eating counsellor, and the owner of a group practice in Winnipeg Manitoba called A Little Nutrition. She manages a team of 11 practitioners (8 dietitians and 3 therapists), an office manager and 3 assistants. She is the co-founder of Nutrition Academy, where dietitians can obtain CEC’s on a variety of digestive health and chronic illness concerns. She was chair of the DC Consulting dietitian’s network from 2015-2019, where she advocated for better dietitian coverage on employee insurance plans and the ability to direct bill dietitian services.

She is a trained healthcare communication facilitator with Institute of Healthcare Communication and Centre for Collaboration Motivation and Innovation.  Alka has great interest in instructional design and healthcare communication. She also teaches clients about creating a sustainable selfcare type lifestyle. Alka has been running a successful consulting practice since 2006 and has transitioned from providing one-on-one counseling services to group programs, resource development, online courses and professional training.
