Sessions will be held by the following experts in the field of sports nutrition:

1. Topic: Nutrition for endurance athletes presented by Eric Williamson
Bio: Eric is a dietitian who earned his PhD in Exercise Science where his thesis research was on protein metabolism and requirements during endurance training. His private practice, Unlocked Fitness and Nutrition, focuses on athletes and recreational exercisers, while his social media content @UnlockedFitnessAndNutrition is centred on endurance exercise. He also teaches sports nutrition for the University of British Columbia and continues research in protein metabolism at the University of Toronto. Eric enjoys bringing both a theoretical and applied lens to the field of sports nutrition.

2. Topic: Nutrition for weight-making sports presented by Kelly Drager
Bio: Kelly is the Lead Performance Dietitian at the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary. She completed a Bachelor of Physical Education, Exercise Physiology honors degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition at the University of Alberta. Her masters of science in Exercise Physiology at the University of Alberta compared energy availability of female athletes and non-athletes taking oral contraceptive pills. She has worked in sport for over 20 years and has been involved with over 10 different National Sport Organizations. Kelly is involved in providing nutrition expertise and support to various sport programs and organizations in Canada, including Skate Canada, Nordiq Canada (Para-Nordic and Cross-Country Skiing), Biathlon Canada, Climbing Escalade Canada, Taekwondo Canada, and the Calgary Wrestling High Performance team. One of her areas of expertise is in combat sport. Having been the Lead registered dietitian for Wrestling Canada across 2 Olympic quads, she developed data driven and evidence based making weight and reload protocols. Through her regular travel to major events, she was able to explore the nuances of the sport and assist in influencing a more consistent, health forward approach to weight management.

3. Topic: Nutrition for team and intermittent sports presented by Jennifer Sygo
Bio: Jennifer is in her fifth season as the Performance Dietitian for the 2019 NBA champion Toronto Raptors. A graduate of McMaster University with a degree in Biochemistry, Jennifer was awarded a Master of Science in Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Guelph, where she specialized in Nutrition, Exercise, and Metabolism. Over her 18-year career, Jennifer has provided nutrition support to Olympic and professional athletes in over 20 sports, and has served as team dietitian for Athletics Canada, Swimming Canada, Gymnastics Canada, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. More recently, Jennifer’s research interests led to her to undertake a PhD in Sport Science at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she is studying the impact of low energy availability on performance in elite women’s gymnastics under the guidance of Professor Kirsty Elliott-Sale. Outside of her work, Jennifer is an avid sports enthusiast, and a proud mother of two active boys.

4. Topic: Nutrition Communications Training for the Sports Dietitian presented by Sue Mah
Bio: Sue is the Founder and President of Nutrition Solutions, a leading nutrition communications consulting agency. As an award winning dietitian, Sue is a Fellow of Dietitians of Canada (DC), and was named the 2017 Dietitian of the Year by the DC Business & Industry Network. She is also the 2019 recipient of the prestigious C.P. Shah Award from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Sue is acclaimed for her expertise as an engaging media dietitian spokesperson, recognized key influencer, nutrition writer, nutrition trends expert and inspiring speaker.
