Dietitians Day! | Celebrating how dietitians make a difference

Date: March 15, 2023

Today on Dietitians Day, we celebrate you – the dietitians and dietetic students across Canada – and the important work you do every day to help Canadians Unlock the Potential of Food.  The work and dedication of dietitians makes a difference to individuals, families, groups and communities, along with so many more touch points across the entire food system locally, nationally and abroad.

Over the past few years, dietitians and students have shown great perseverance, adaptability and flexibility in navigating the challenges that have been presented to all of us, both personally and professionally. We’ve heard you speak out on important issues, advocate for change, contribute to the knowledge base and so much more. Myself, as well as my colleagues on the Board of Directors and the DC staff, commend your passion for making a lasting impact across the health and food systems. The future is bright as we move forward as a profession and an association.

So today, take a moment to recognize your impact and that of your colleagues. Send an email, check out a Member Blog, acknowledge a friend on social media (using #DietitiansDay), or simply pick up the phone to say thank you.

I am also very excited to announce that, for the first time since 2019, the dietitian community will be able to connect and learn together once again in-person at the National Conference in Montreal this May. Registration opens today.  I sincerely hope to see you there! Learn more about the conference, program, travel deals, and how to register here.

Happy Dietitians Day and Nutrition Month 2023 to all of you!

Leslie Beck, RD
Chair, DC Board of Directors
