Current perspectives on fatty acids in breast cancer

This session provides broad and current perspectives on a variety of fatty acids. While the primary focus will be on the role of omega-3 fatty acids from plant and marine sources in breast cancer prevention, the role of other fatty acids including omega-6, trans and monounsaturated fatty acids are also presented. Recent controversies regarding the lack of efficacy of omega-3 fatty acids will be reviewed. Advances in the nutrigenomics of omega-3 fatty acids and their potential influence on health will also be highlighted.
