Research Abstracts

 

The 2018 Research Showcase of the Canadian Foundation for Dietetic Research (CFDR) will be held during the Dietitians of Canada National Conference in Vancouver, BC from June 6 to June 9, 2018. 
 
Information on the abstract submission process will be posted on the CFDR website in January 2018 at www.cfdr.ca/sharing/conference.aspx.

 
Eligibility

  • DC members as well as non-members may submit

 
Abstract Submission Deadlines

Early Bird Deadline - February 12, 2018 at 11:59 EST

  • Abstracts can be submitted commencing on January 2, 2018
  • Only work completed by the Early Bird deadline will be considered
  • Results of the peer review will be available in time to take advantage of the Early Bird conference registration
  • Presentations will be either oral or electronic posters depending on peer-review ranking and preference
  • The first author must be registered for the conference in order to present
  • Abstracts presented at the conference will be published in the Canadian Journal of Dietetic Practice and Research (Fall 2018)
  • Abstracts accepted, but not presented, will be posted to the CFDR website

 
 Late Breaking Deadline - April 9, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST

  • Abstracts can be submitted commencing on February 13, 2018
  • Results of the peer review will be available by May 18, 2018
  • Presentations will be electronic posters
  • All accepted abstracts (presented or not) will be posted to the CFDR website

 
Professionals

  • Completed work must be submitted by the Late Breaking deadline
  • The first author must be registered at the conference in order to present

 
Students

  • Student category includes:  summer students, dietetic interns, undergraduate and graduate students in the field of dietetics and nutrition
  • Work in progress can be submitted by the Late Breaking deadline
  • Accepted abstracts for work in progress must be completed and re-submitted by May 28, 2017 at 8:00 PM EST
  • The first author OR his/her preceptor must be registered at the conference in order to present
  • Students OR their presenting preceptors will be eligible for Early Bird registration at the DC conference until May 28, 2017
  • Preceptors may present up to 3 of their students' posters
