DC is looking for a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant to support the next steps in the Strategic Plan

Date: June 11, 2021

Dietitians of Canada is committed to being a mutually supportive, engaged, diverse and inclusive professional community. Under the 2020-2024 strategic plan, DC has started and will continue to intentionally seek involvement and engagement from underrepresented groups in leadership and volunteer opportunities, including on the DC Board of Directors. DC has also prioritized collecting member data to help better understand the diversity of the DC membership, and is actively working to support dietitians with ongoing learning and education focused on diversity, inclusion and the importance of providing culturally safe, anti-oppressive care. We acknowledge that this work has only just begun and needs to be further embedded in DC policies and processes.

DC is now looking to work with an expert to help identify and prioritize ways which DC can use its position to influence change and increase diversity in the profession, including addressing  systemic racism and other forms of oppression that impact entry into the profession. Ensuring that all DC members experience a sense of belonging to their professional community is also a priority of this important work.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) has been created to outline the objectives and other details of the project, and several consultants and organizations with expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion have been invited to participate in the process.

Interested members can access the RFP here. Non DC members can request a copy of the RFP by emailing ceo@dietitians.ca.

Please note, this opportunity is now closed.

DC members can read about the project's actions and activities that are currently underway here
