Calcium is a mineral found in the food we eat and drink. It helps build and maintain strong bones and teeth. Canadian adults aged 19-50 need 1000 mg of calcium each day or 2 servings of milk or alternatives. Adults age 51 and older should aim for an intake of 1200 mg of calcium every day, or 3 servings of milk and alternatives.
