FAQs for Members


How do I renew my membership?
Starting June 24, you will have access to renew your membership. Renewing your membership can be done in a few simple steps: 
  1.  Log In: Access the Member Login Portal
    • If you are a new member, create a new account.
    • If you are an existing DC member, you’ll need to reset your password. To do that, select ‘Forgot username?’. Enter the existing email associated with your DC account. You will receive an email notification with a link to reset your password. Remember to check your junk folder for the email. Follow the instructions to set up a new password and log in.  
  2. Start your purchase. Once you’re in, click the “Renew Now” button under My Account or “Join Now”. 
  3. Renew Membership & Insurance: Update your membership details and confirm your membership type for 2024-2025. If you qualify for professional liability insurance, the renewal date of your DC insurance policy is July 1st, 2024. 
  4. Purchase any additional add-ons: After renewing your membership, you’ll have the option to purchase any networks you would like to join, as well as a Learning on Demand All-Access Pass.

Will I need a new username and password?
If you are an existing DC member, you will need to reset your password in order to access your account. To do that, head to the Member Login Portal and select ‘Forgot username?’. Enter the existing email associated with your DC account. You will receive an email notification with a link to reset your password. Remember to check your junk folder for the email. Follow the instructions to set up a new password and log in to proceed with your renewal purchases.

How do I purchase insurance?
When you renew or purchase your membership, you’ll be provided the opportunity to purchase Professional Liability Insurance and Commercial General Liability Insurance at the competitive annual rate of $91 (plus provincial taxes) for the 2024-2025 policy year, provided by BMS Canada Risk Services. This annual fee is not prorated. If you are a dietetic practicum student, you may have your insurance premium waived. 
You can purchase insurance at the time of your membership renewal, or you can purchase it at any time outside of the renewal period. You can access the link to purchase through your DC member portal.
 
I had coupon codes that are still valid. Will I still be able to use them? 
Yes. If you have a coupon code that is set to expire in 2024, they can continue to be used in the new system, and will expire on the same date as originally stated. Please reach out to Membership Services if you encounter any issues using your coupon codes.
How do I join a Network?
After you’ve renewed your membership, you’ll have the option to purchase membership into DC’s Networks. You can access the link to purchase through your DC member portal.
How do I get access to Learning on Demand?
After you’ve renewed your membership, you’ll have the option to purchase a Learning on Demand All Access Pass, or purchasing individual LOD presentations. You can access the link to purchase through your DC member portal.
How do I get a copy of my purchase receipt?
In your membership portal, you can locate your recent purchase receipts under the Participation tab. Please note, any receipts for purchases made prior to the FY24/25 membership renewal will not be accessible in the new member portal. If you did not save a copy, please reach out to Membership Services at contactus@dietitians.ca for assistance with obtaining a copy of your receipt.

I’m having issues logging in.
To sign in, click the Sign in link from the top of the website and enter your username and password.

How do I reset my password?
To reset your password, start by clicking the "Sign In" link, then locate and click the "Forgot password" link. Enter your email address in the designated field. After that, you'll receive a password reset email at the address you provided. Simply follow the instructions in the email to complete the password reset process.
How do I update my member profile?
Once you are logged into your member portal, you can navigate to the ‘About’ section of your portal to update your member profile details and preferences.  From your account page, you have access to update your address, email, language skills, communication preferences, professional details, education, and so much more!
My new membership portal is missing some sections.
As we are migrating into a new membership system, some sections or resources may not be immediately available. Please bear with us as we migrate over the member details, tools, and resources into the new portal and reach out to Membership Services (contactus@dietitians.ca) if you require any immediate assistance.
I can’t find my past receipts. How do I get a hold of them?
Previous receipts prior to the new membership year will not be available in the new portal. Current members will have access to the existing portal until June 30, 2024 and can download receipts individually. If you can no longer access the previous portal, please reach out to Membership Services (contactus@dietitians.ca) to obtain a copy. 

To get a copy of a paid invoice during this membership cycle, start by going to your account page. Click the My Participation tab, then find and expand the Invoices section. All paid and unpaid invoices appear here.

Click the Invoice Number then click the Print tab. Click the PDF icon to download and print the invoice.
I’ve registered or renewed, but I don’t see any of my products available to me yet.
Products including Networks, Learning on Demand, and other resources will not be available until the new FY24/25 membership year starts. After the start of the new membership year, if you do not see your products or resources immediately in the portal, please check back in a few days or inquire with contactus@dietitians.ca as we are as we are continually adding new features and updates to the system.
