FAQs for Members


How do I renew my membership?
Starting June 9, you will have access to renew your membership. Renewing your membership can be done in a few simple steps: 
  1.  Log In: Access the Member Login Portal
    • If you are a new member, create a new account.
    • If you are an existing DC member, and need to reset your password, select ‘Forgot username?’. Enter the existing email associated with your DC account. You will receive an email notification with a link to reset your password. Remember to check your junk folder for the email. Follow the instructions to set up a new password and log in.  
  2. Start your purchase. Once you’re in, click the “Renew Now” button under My Account. 
  3. Renew Membership & Insurance: Update your membership details and confirm your membership type for 2025-2026. If you qualify for professional liability insurance, the renewal date of your DC insurance policy is July 1st, 2025. 
  4. Purchase any additional add-ons: After renewing your membership, you’ll have the option to purchase any networks you would like to join, as well as a Learning on Demand All-Access Pass.

Will I need a new username and password?
If you are an existing DC member, you can login to your account. If you need to reset your password, head to the Member Login Portal and select ‘Forgot username?’. Enter the existing email associated with your DC account. You will receive an email notification with a link to reset your password. Remember to check your junk folder for the email. Follow the instructions to set up a new password and log in to proceed with your renewal purchases.

How do I purchase insurance?
When you renew or purchase your membership, you’ll be provided the opportunity to purchase Professional Liability Insurance and Commercial General Liability Insurance at the competitive annual rate of $93 (plus provincial taxes) for the 2025-2026 policy year, provided by BMS Canada Risk Services. This annual fee is not prorated. If you are a dietetic practicum student, you may have your insurance premium waived. 

You can purchase insurance at the time of your membership renewal, or you can purchase it at any time outside of the renewal period. You can access the link to purchase through your DC member portal.
 
I had coupon codes that are still valid. Will I still be able to use them? 
Yes. If you have a coupon code that is set to expire in 2025, they can continue to be used until the expirary as originally stated. Please reach out to Membership Services if you encounter any issues using your coupon codes.
How do I join a Network?
After you’ve added your membership category to your cart, you'll be prompted to "continue shopping". There you’ll have the option to purchase membership into DC’s Networks. You can also access the link to purchase DC's Networks at any time throughout the membership year through your DC member portal.
How do I get access to Learning on Demand?
After you’ve added your membership category to your cart, you'll be prompted to "continue shopping". There you’ll have the option to purchase a Learning on Demand All Access Pass. You can also access the link to purchase the Learning on Demand All Access Pass or individual Learning on Demand sessions at any time throughout the membership year through your DC member portal.
How do I get a copy of my purchase receipt?
In your membership portal, you can locate your recent purchase receipts under the Participation tab. Please note, any receipts for purchases made prior to the FY24/25 membership renewal will not be accessible in the new member portal.
I’m having issues logging in.
To sign in, click the Sign in link from the top of the website and enter your username and password.

How do I reset my password?
To reset your password, start by clicking the "Sign In" link, then locate and click the "Forgot password" link. Enter your email address in the designated field. After that, you'll receive a password reset email at the address you provided. Simply follow the instructions in the email to complete the password reset process.
How do I update my member profile?
Once you are logged into your member portal, you can navigate to the ‘About’ section of your portal to update your member profile details and preferences. From your account page, you have access to update your address, email, language skills, communication preferences, professional details, education, and so much more
