Student blogger opportunity

If you’ve recently completed your undergrad or practicum experience, the Dysphagia Assessment and Treatment Network (DATN) would like to hear more about your experience learning about dysphagia in practice.  Please see below for more information.

If you've recently completed your undergrad training:

Provide a 100-200 word blog post regarding your dysphagia learning experience during your undergrad training.  We are looking to know:
  1. Whether or not dysphagia was discussed as a “nutritionally relevant” medical condition
  2. What you learned about the pathophysiology and management of dysphagia  
  3. What you were told about the dietitian’s “role” in dysphagia care
  4. Were you ever shown how to complete a dysphagia assessment
  5. Were you ever given the opportunity to practice dysphagia assessment
  6. Do you feel that your undergrad training prepared you to complete dysphagia assessments independently (as will be expected of you in practice)
Compensation: $50 honorarium plus Network membership

If you are finishing up or recently completed your practicum training:

Provide a a 100-200 word blog post regarding your dysphagia learning experience during your practicum program.  We are looking to know:
  1. Whether or not dysphagia assessment was completed by your preceptors (or was it the responsibility of another professional group ( i.e. SLP, OT)
  2. What you were told about the dietitian’s “role” in dysphagia care
  3. Were you ever shown how to complete a dysphagia assessment
  4. Were you ever given the opportunity to practice dysphagia assessment
  5. Do you feel that your practicum program  prepared you to complete dysphagia assessments independently (as will be expected of you in practice)
Compensation: $50 honorarium plus Network membership
